Summer School Program Assistant

The PA works closely with the management team to ensure the smooth running of the session. Your responsibilities will include providing an administrative link between Head Office and the Summer School, liaising with the University and performing general administrative duties.

The PA must have excellent interpersonal skills as well as being able to demonstrate exceptional organisational, time management and written and oral communication skills. This is a multi-faceted role where a variety of skills will be required as each day will be different for the PA.

Main responsibilities

  • Provide administrative link between Head Office and the Programme Director, keeping in touch with the Operations Director and the Admissions Director via email
  • Liaise with staff, students, university faculty and other ISSOS clients in a professional manner
  • Collect and record valuables (passports, plane tickets) from students at the beginning of the session, storing them during the session and returning them at the end
  • Maintain and provide up to date information on class allocations for Head Counselors
  • Distribute and record expenses and petty cash. This includes pocket money sent for students from parents
  • Distribute, collect and collate student feedback questionnaires at the end of the each session

Skills, knowledge and experience

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent word processing and IT skills, including knowledge of a range of software packages
  • Ability to act with discretion and an understanding of confidentiality issues
  • Good organisational and time management skills

Additional requirements

  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must be a UK or US citizen or have the legal documents to work in the UK and USA respectively
  • All staff must pass a full criminal background check*


  • Positions are available in St Andrews, Cambridge and Yale
  • Full bed and board is provided plus fixed payment

Session dates

St Andrews: 28th June - 17th August 2020

Cambridge: 12th July - 6th August 2020

Yale: 16th July - 10th August 2020
