International Recruitment Manager

Job Purpose

ISSOS Staff Letters 2014To develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment plan targeted at a variety of professionals and students who are looking for summer work.  We employ great people, with great personalities, who are able to inspire young people, engage in fun activities, teach their chosen subject with enthusiasm and passion and who want to have an amazing summer experience that creates real impact. It is up to you to be able to spot these people, understand these candidates, identify their strengths and their possible weaknesses – all in a short interview or just by meeting them.

Sound easy? If it were that easy, we could employ anyone, but we run a company that is all about being the best – the best summer program, the best staff, the best service and we run a company whose tag line is ‘The Experience of a Lifetime’. We are looking for someone who wants to have that experience every day by joining our team, but who also wants to make sure that the staff they employ have that experience when working with our students.

This is a role for someone who gets people, who is genuinely interested in people and who they are, not just what they do. Someone who connects with people instantly and has the ability to build on that connection.  Someone who understands the elements that come together to create a strong team and who can communicate what ISSOS does, its mission and its history clearly and in a way that inspires others and in turn makes them dedicated to working with us over summer.

Staff hugAs the company expands to the USA there will be a need to employ seasonal staff in the US and the UK and fill over 100 seasonal positions that include: Program Director, Head Counselors, Counselors, English Teachers, Creative Writing Teachers, Film Teachers, Photography Teachers, Entrepreneurship Teachers, Youth Leadership Teachers, to name a few. We already have a large network of teaching and counseling staff, however this needs to be expanded to reach the right people to fill the positions and engage teachers in the US.

The right candidate will be a natural networker, someone who finds it easy to engage with others and is interested in talent spotting wherever they are.

We have 3 weeks to get it right and it’s our staff that are key to the entire experience, if we don’t get the staff right, we cannot deliver the product or service - we are only as good as the people we employ and we endeavour to find the best people.

Please note we are not necessarily looking for someone with a background in recruitment or HR, we are looking for someone who understands ISSOS and is willing to jump in and learn but who has the ability to create the contacts and network needed to recruit the appropriate seasonal staff.

Requirments

  • High level of emotional intelligence

  • Must be a people person

  • Interest and passion for people and education

  • Outgoing and personable

  • A motivated, Self starter who is always looking for opportunities

  • High work speed

  • Commercial or educational experience

  • Experience of summer camp/school, language school or education would be helpful but not essential.

  • Native English speaker

  • Must be able to develop relationships quickly with a wide variety of people.

  • A Strong communicator who can ask the right questions

  • Ability to develop and grow good personal relationships within a team and clients

  • Ability to present in front of a variety of audiences

  • Natural Networker with already established strong network
