What Students Will Learn
This fun and engaging outdoor class is all about developing useful life skills through real-world challenges and group activities. Students will explore how to work well with others, think creatively, and grow in confidence through a series of hands-on tasks.
With guidance from experienced teachers, students will take part in activities like orienteering, team games, and trust exercises. These sessions are designed to strengthen group connections, encourage collaboration, and highlight what makes a team work effectively.
Throughout the course, students will also develop their communication skills, learning how to listen actively, express ideas clearly, and build positive relationships. They’ll practise staying calm under pressure, thinking on their feet, and making decisions as a group in challenging situations.
At Cambridge, students will try sailing and raft-building, while at Yale they’ll take on a high ropes course and go kayaking. These memorable experiences give them the chance to apply their new skills in action.
By the end of the programme, students will have developed practical leadership skills, greater self-awareness, and a clearer sense of their individual strengths.
Our elective classes run for 3 hours every weekday afternoon (except Wednesdays) and are paired with an academic class, allowing students to explore different interests and create a well-rounded academic profile.
