What Students Will Learn

On arrival, students will be split into groups based on their experience, so that everyone learns at the right pace and receives tailored tuition. Students will be taught on the world-class facilities at the Duke’s Course, where they can put their newly learned skills into practice.

For beginner golfers, the focus is on learning the basic skills to start playing with confidence, including the rules and etiquette of golf, how to hold and swing a club, and practicing essential shots like putting, chipping, and driving.

Intermediate and advanced players will focus on improving key aspects of their game, from refining their short game and perfecting swing mechanics, to working on accuracy and distance control.

Advanced players with a low handicap can choose to play more golf in the final week (by missing some of the cultural trips). This is at an additional cost but allows experienced golfers to get more playing time and take full advantage of some of the incredible golf courses in St Andrews. They will also have the chance to enter the ballot to play the world-famous Old Course.

Regardless of previous experience level, our golf elective will give players of all levels the opportunity to learn and develop new skills. All equipment is provided, but students who already have their own clubs are encouraged to bring them.

Please note: Our golf elective runs for 2 hours every weekday afternoon (except Wednesdays).
