What Students Will Learn

On the first day of our Tennis programme, students will be grouped based on their experience and ability, so that coaches can tailor lessons to suit everyone’s level and help them get the most out of each session.

Beginners will be introduced to the core skills and rules of the game. They'll practise the basics, from forehand and backhand shots to serving, volleying and footwork. Along the way, they'll also learn how to score, get comfortable with court positioning, and build confidence through fun, game-based activities.

For intermediate and advanced players, the focus will be on fine-tuning techniques and developing more advanced tactical awareness. Coaches will cover spin, movement drills, court positioning and match strategy, helping players to make smarter decisions during games. Students will also work on strengthening their serve, improving their return shots, and maintaining stronger rallies.

There’ll be plenty of opportunities to put these skills into practice in friendly matches throughout the course, all building up to the ISSOS Tennis Tournament – a chance for students to show how far they’ve come in a friendly competition.

Important: Students will need to bring their own tennis racket for this class.

Our elective classes run for 3 hours every weekday afternoon (except Wednesdays) and are paired with an academic class, allowing students to explore different interests and create a well-rounded academic profile.
