"Truly the experience of a lifetime! I went to St Andrews and had so much fun. The Leadership class and electives were really engaging, and the teachers and counselors were both professional and welcoming. Excursions and activities were incredible, and I met friends from all over the world who I hope will last a lifetime. Thank you ISSOS—I’ll never forget this summer!"

Lowa came to ISSOS St Andrews at age 15, and had no idea just how unforgettable the next three weeks would be. Living in Beirut, Lebanon, and fluent in three languages, he joined a global community of students from around the world, and made friendships and memories to last a lifetime.
Having heard about ISSOS from his cousin and reading glowing reviews online, Lowa knew this was more than just a typical summer camp. “I chose ISSOS for many reasons: my cousin attended and said it was wonderful, the reviews were AMAZING and the location seemed very interesting.”
One of the highlights of his time at ISSOS was the sense of togetherness built through shared experiences. “My favorite part of the programme was the clan events as it was one of the main parts where I could socialize with everyone as a whole (during classes and electives we were separated).”
Now heading into his final year of high school, Lowa still carries the lessons and confidence he gained from his ISSOS summer. “ISSOS definitely gave me skills I still use today. It exposed me to so many new people and new cultures (the nationality cap is something amazing that isn’t really found in other camps). And thanks to that exposure I find it really easy to socialize and make new friends. This exposure also helped me become open minded and helped me accept people as they are.”
Lowa’s message to anyone getting ready for their first ISSOS experience is full of enthusiasm: “Main advice: don’t stress! It’s going to be amazing, I am more than sure. If I had fun that means anyone will have fun. I was super anxious before coming and the day I arrived it all went away! Everyone is super chill and social from campers to counselors to teachers. MAKE THE MOST OF IT! 3 weeks flew by and there are so many things I wish I did but unfortunately couldn’t.”
When asked to sum up his ISSOS experience, Lowa doesn’t hold back: “Saying that my ISSOS experience was amazing would still be an understatement. There are no words to describe it. I genuinely felt like I made real long lasting connections all around the world and I still talk to them. That’s what is nice about ISSOS. I still recommend it to everyone who plans on going to camp. ISSOS set the bar way too high.”
