Punting on the River Cam
Date: July 29, 2013
New photos of ISSOS Cambridge have been uploaded on to the ISSOS Facebook page. Pictures include academic and elective classes, weekend workshops and the Friday night disco. As ISSOS students are residing in Queens College, based right on the River Cam, we have also included some photos of the students “punting” on the River Cam.
"A punt is a flat-bottomed boat with a square-cut bow, designed for use in small rivers or other shallow water. Punts were originally built as cargo boats or platforms for fowling and angling, but in modern times their use is almost exclusively confined to pleasure trips." Lord Byron and Geoffery Chaucer have both written about the River Cam.
