ISSOS Giving Back

ISSOS Giving Back to Raise Awarness and Money for Great Causes.

ISSOS values run through everything we do, one of our values is Social Responsibility and one of the ways in which we engage in that value is to give back. We have always been conscious of those less fortunate than our selves and with this in mind have selected charities every year to give money to or time. In the last year we have supported Project Present, giving Christmas gifts to children in kinship care, Micro Tyco and now Social Bite(see below). Read about two of the projects we have been involved in this year to raise awareness and money for two great causes.

Micro Tyco
Business and Entrepreneurship provide Micro Loans to women in the developing world

This summer ISSOS partnered with The Wild Hearts Group to bring Micro-Tyco to the Business and Entrepreneurship students at Yale and Cambridge. Over three weeks students who took the Business and Entrepreneurship class were divided in to teams and given £1 to practice and learn fundamental business principles in a safe, 'micro' environment. Each team had to make as much as they could from their £1 micro loan and all the profits in turn were given to women in the developing world to start their own business. In total students raised between the two campuses £750 and that money has gone on to help give other entrepreneurs a start in business.

In addition every summer we sell ISSOS clothing at all three campuses, 100% of the profits go to a charity selected by staff and students, this year half of this money was given to Micro Tyco and the other half to Project Present (more on that to come)
